Leaping Into Eclipse Season
Memoirs From The Grove
Eclipse season has a certain reputation. We hear about it and think that shit is about to down. Astrologers note it. Your body notes it. And what did I do at the start of Eclipse season?
I booked a trip to Paris.
Here’s what I’ve learned about Eclipse season after years of tracking the sky alongside my own life. It doesn’t create chaos, but it does reveal what is already true. Relationships that end during Eclipse season were already ending. The doors that swing open have been unlocked for a long time. Eclipse season just removes your ability to ignore what you know deep down.
And what I knew, sitting in the stretch of booking something so unbelievably beautiful, was that my gut was saying yes before my mind had a chance to object.
When my close mentor and friend first launched her VIP days in Paris, I remember seeing the stories of past clients experiencing them and feeling so wistful that they had stepped through such a transformational Parisian portal. Oh, that’s nice, but it’s not really feasible for me to plan an overseas trip just for a day long experience. It didn’t even really register in my body as a possibility. Not because I couldn’t make it work financially, but because of the old ‘I can’t do something like this’ crap that keeps us stagnant.
A couple of weeks later, I was working on my new program. I had a great journaling session, and then I went to look up an image of an Artemis statue that I loved and was using in something I was creating for work. It’s my favorite statue of her because she is reaching for an arrow. She has whatever it is she wants in her sights. She knows. And as I downloaded the image, I saw where the statue was located.
The Louvre, Paris.
Something just hit me. Viscerally. That is how Artemis has always guided me. The kind of remembrance that swells in your chest before your thoughts arrive. It was the same feeling that led me to Scotland. It was the same feeling that led me to sell my house and move. It was also the same feeling that led to every investment I have ever made for my business. And I knew it in that moment: I am going to Paris.
Over the years, I’ve learned to trust that feeling above almost everything else. The things I’ve said yes to from that place have changed my life in ways I couldn’t have engineered with even the most careful planning. Every single time, the yes that cost me something gave me everything.
Eclipse season is not the time to contract. It’s the time for accelerated expansion. It’s like stepping onto those long fast track belts at the airport; you’re walking the same speed as the people not on it, but getting there twice as fast.
And a quantum leap rarely feels comfortable in the moment you make it. It feels like a financial stretch. It feels like a voice asking “who the f*ck do you think you are?” It feels like a flutter of something between excitement and mostly terror that just feels inevitable.
I felt the familiar pull towards waiting, towards the safer choice that would have kept me exactly where I was. And before it could marinate, I booked the flights. Because I have learned, slowly and sometimes painfully, that the hesitation is not a warning. It’s a threshold. And you have to walk through it.
When I booked my flights I discovered that Air France carries a hippocampus as its logo. The mythic sea creature of ancient Greece, half horse and half fish, that pulled Poseidon’s chariot through the ocean. A being of enormous power that belonged to two worlds entirely and was tamed by neither. I sat with that for a moment. The vessel carrying me to this city at this moment in my life would carry a mythic creature as its talisman.
This is what Eclipse season does when you say yes to it. The synchronicities begin to stack. The universe starts speaking in a language you recognize because you finally stopped talking long enough to listen. My mentor was in tears because she was so happy for me. People close to me actually cried and told me how much I deserved this. I have started listening to French music as I make breakfast in the morning. I am feeling such a deep love for myself because I said yes to this experience.
Paris itself is a city steeped in myth and feminine initiation in ways most people never think about. The island at its heart where Notre Dame stands was once a druidic sacred site. The city was built on the premise that beauty is not a luxury, but a devotion. That art and architecture and the kind of meal that makes you close your eyes are not rewards for hard work. They are the point of life. Paris has always understood that a woman who tends to her own pleasure and her own sacred experience of being alive is not being indulgent. She is being holy.
I am going to Paris to be witnessed. Not by an audience, but by myself. That is the signal. That is what I mean when I talk about telling the universe who you are. The universe is not watching your bank account or your follower count or the number of clients you’ve signed. It’s watching whether you treat yourself like someone whose life is worth celebrating. It’s watching whether you can receive beauty and abundance without any side notes.
There is a particular kind of sovereignty that arrives when you sit at table with a glass of wine and a notebook and nowhere to be and no one to check in with. When you wander a museum at your own pace, lingering in front of the paintings that stop you without explanation, moving on when you’re ready. When you make every single decision based entirely on what you want. It sounds simple but for so many women this becomes lost in the demands of life.
I am going to immerse myself and celebrate what I have built, not when it’s finished or fully proven… but now, in the tender middle of it, because that is the woman I have been becoming for a long time.
So if something has been tugging at you; a trip, an investment, a yes you’ve been circling for months, pay really close attention to that. Not every single nudge is going to be Eclipse magic. But some of them are. And the ones that light you up from within, the ones that make you simultaneously excited and quietly terrified, those are the ones that deserve your attention.
